Hayward Strainer Body O-Ring (HCXP6025A) is a component designed to ensure a watertight seal between the strainer body and the pump housing in Hayward’s HCP Series commercial pool pumps.
Functionality:
Watertight Seal: The O-ring prevents water from leaking at the junction between the strainer body and the pump housing, maintaining optimal pump performance and preventing potential damage to the pump and surrounding equipment.

Installation and Maintenance:
Installation:
Access the O-Ring Location: Turn off the pump and relieve any air pressure in the system. Remove the strainer cover to access the existing O-ring.
Remove the Old O-Ring: Carefully take the old O-ring out ensuring not to damage the groove where it sits.
Inspect and Clean: Examine the groove for debris or damage and clean it thoroughly to ensure a proper seal.
Install the New O-Ring: Add lubricant designed for pool O-rings to the new HCXP6025A O-ring installation. Place the O-ring into the groove, ensuring it sits evenly without twists.
Reassemble: Replace the strainer cover, ensuring it is aligned correctly, and secure it tightly to prevent leaks.
Maintenance:
Regular Inspection: Periodically check the O-ring for wear, cracking, or deformation, especially if you notice leaks or decreased pump performance.
Replacement: Replace the O-ring if any signs of deterioration are present to maintain the integrity of the pump system.
Lubrication: Apply a thin layer of pool-grade lubricant to the O-ring during regular maintenance to prolong its lifespan and ensure a good seal.
